Oppland

Oppland is a county in Norway, bordering Sr-Trndelag, Mre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration is in Lillehammer. Oppland extends from the lakes Mjsa and Randsfjorden to the mountains Dovrefjell, Jotunheimen and Rondane. The county includes the landscapes Gudbrandsdalen, Valdres, Toten, Hadeland and Land. Oppland includes the cities Lillehammer, Gjvik and Otta, and Norway's two highest mountains, Glittertind and Galdhpiggen. A lot of museums and other attractions are situated here. Tourism is important to the economy; Valdres and Gudbrandsdalen being popular attractions. Gudbrandsdalen surrounds the river Gudbrandsdalslgen, and includes the villages yer, Dovre and Dombs. Valdres includes the land extending from Jotunheimen down to Bagn at Begna river. It is a well known place for skiing and winter sports. The main built up places here are Beitostlen and Fagernes.
