Operation Adler

Military history records two events called Operation Adler, the name meaning Eagle in German:
  1. A series of air attacks beginning on 13 August, 1940 that began the Battle of Britain. A German victory was a prerequisite for the invasion of England (Seelwe).
  2. Anti-partisan operation centered on the Chechivichi region of Belarus begun on 20 July, 1942.
