Olmsted Falls, OhioOlmsted Falls is a city located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,962. Geography Olmsted Falls is located at 41°22'3" North, 81°54'17" West (41.367626, -81.904818). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.7 km² (4.1 mi²). 10.7 km² (4.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 7,962 people, 3,121 households, and 2,228 families residing in the city. The population density is 744.3/km² (1,927.2/mi²). There are 3,267 housing units at an average density of 305.4/km² (790.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.71% White, 1.31% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.73% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. 1.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 3,121 households out of which 34.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.6% are non-families. 24.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 3.06. In the city the population is spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.2 males. The median income for a household in the city is $57,826, and the median income for a family is $66,196. Males have a median income of $41,996 versus $35,110 for females. The per capita income for the city is $25,716. 2.1% of the population and 1.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 1.2% of those under the age of 18 and 4.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line. The Olmsted Falls school system educates students from neighboring Olmsted Township. There are four schools in the school system, Falls-Lenox Elementary, Fitch Elementary, Olmsted Falls Middle School, and Olmsted Falls High School. The school mascot is the Bulldogs. The Bulldog football team won the 2000 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship by beating Piqua 21-0 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massilon, OH. External links
