Ollanta Humala

Ollanta Moiss Humala Tasso is a Peruvian nationalist and a lieutenant colonel (retired) in that country's army. In October 2000 he led an uprising by his Movimiento Etnocacerista in Tacna against President Alberto Fujimori. Pardoned by Congress he was allowed to return to military duty. He was sent to South Korea until December 2004, when he was forcibly retired. His being forced out of the army is suspected to have been part of the motivation behind his brother Antauro Humala's leading another etnocacerista rebellion in January 2005.
