Oldmachar AcademyEstablished in 1982, Oldmachar Academy is a Scottish Secondary School or comprehensive school situated in the Bridge of Don suburb of Aberdeen, Scotland. Comprising of 1,075 pupils from 1st to 6th year, the school receives Primary 7 pupils from the 5 associated Primary schools in an Associate Schools Group. These schools are: Danestone, Forehill, Glashieburn, Middleton Park and pupils from the Dubford area who attend Greenbrae. Building and Site The school consists of seven "blocks" built to form an irregular quadrangle, with playing fields to the north of the school which slopes into 3 seperate levels. The school has 12 classrooms of temporary hutted accommodation, as well as semi-permanent relocatable buildings for Biology, Chemistry, Modern Languages and Physical Education. However this "temporary hutted accommodation" become permanent fixture for well over 7 years. The School day consisits of 5 seperate periods that last for an 65 minutes, except on Tuesdays in which teachers have a meeting and pupils are released 25 minutes early.
