Official Opposition (India)
Official Opposition is a term used to designate the political party securing the largest number of seats in the Lower House of parliament (
Lok Sabha
), and which is not part of the ruling party or coalition.
As of 2004
the Official Opposition in India is the
Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP).
