Offenbach, Hesse Offenbach is a city in Hessen, Germany, located at the river Main. Geographical location ; population 119.233 (2002). The city is part of Frankfurt's urban area. Offenbach was a center of the leather industry, which has however declined in the last decades. It is still the seat of the Deutsches Leder Museum (German Leather Museum), and also of the international leather fair. It is also the seat of the Deutscher Wetterdienst (German weather service). Historic buildings are the Offenbach castle, and the Steinheim castle in neighboring Hanau, both near the Main river.
