Geography Oak Hills is located at 40°49'30" North, 79°55'8" West (40.825041, -79.918853). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.4 km² (3.2 mi²). 8.4 km² (3.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,335 people, 948 households, and 663 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 279.1/km² (723.4/mi²). There are 973 housing units at an average density of 116.3/km² (301.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.46% White, 0.47% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.43% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 0.09% from other races, and 0.43% from two or more races. 0.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 948 households out of which 33.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% are married couples living together, 10.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% are non-families. 26.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.98. In the CDP the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 90.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.0 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $46,078, and the median income for a family is $56,447. Males have a median income of $52,500 versus $32,083 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $22,106. 10.0% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line.
