Nyen

Nyen (Skantsen, Nyenskans, in Finnish: Nevanlinna, also Skantsi) was a Swedish fortress built in 1611 at the mouth of the Neva river in Swedish Ingria. During the Great Northern War it was conquered by Peter the Great who in 1703 founded the city of Saint Petersburg at the site. See also: Nteborg
