Numidium

The Numidium is a fictional construct from the game Morrowind.

First Numidium

During the First Era, Dwemer artificers constructed a great golem named Numidium, approximately 1000 feet tall, by some accounts, intended to serve as a god, of sorts, for the Dwemer people. It was first used in the Battle of Red Mountain, against the Chimer forces assailing the Dwemer stronghold. Presumably, it was captured by the Chimeri forces after the dissapearence of the Dwemer. Rumor has it that, as part of the deal the Tribunal made with Tiber Septim, the Numidium was gifted to the Empire, in order for a large degree of sovereignty to be given to the Morrowind Province. Subsequently, it was used by Septim to conquer Tamriel, until, according to legend, he started to use it to oppress several royal families of Tamriel. The Imperial Battlemage, enraged, destroyed the Numidium, along with himself.

Second Numidium

The second Numidium, or Akulakhan, was under construction by Dagoth Ur during the Third Era. Dagoth Ur had intended to use it for three things; to liberate Vvardenfell, and subsequently Morrowind, to spread the power of the Heart of Lorkhan, and to serve as a banner for his cause. However, upon the destruction of the Heart of Lorkhan by the Nerevarine in 3E 426, the Second Numidium was destroyed, along with Dagoth Ur.
