Consisting of eight extended-length tracks all credited to guitarist Robbie Robertson, it was the last studio album conceived as such by the classic line-up. The album could easily be called "Garth Hudson's album". Always a dominant force on the albums, the recording of Northern Lights/Southern Cross using a 24-track console allowed Hudson to paint musical pictures like never before. Several tracks feature multiple layers of keyboards, on top of which the other four members perform as well as ever. Track Listing - Forbidden Fruit (Robertson; 5:59)
- Hobo Jungle (Robertson; 4:15)
- Ophelia (Robertson; 3:32)
