Nonargument

Identifying a nonargument is critical for evaluating and distinguishing the existence of logic in a passage. A nonargument takes many shapes are a type of type of logical fallacy. There are a few typical nonarguments:

warnings

pieces of advice

statements of belief

statements of opinion

loosely associated statements

reports

expository passages

illusrations

explanations

A term like hence indicates an explanation might be at work.

conditional statements

A statement beginning with 'if' indicates a conditional at work and is therefore a nonargument.
