Non-partisan Association

The Non-Partisan Association - the NPA - is a civic-level political party operating in Vancouver, Canada. Established in the 1930's, the party advocates conservative principles. It has traditionally been led and supported by persons affiliated with the federal Liberal and Conservative parties and, formerly, the provincial Social Credit party. A very successful municipal party, it has often held the majority of seats on Vancouver City Council. However, since 2002, it has held only a minority of Council seats. There have been four NPA mayors of Vancouver: Philip Owen, William Rathie, Thomas Campbell and Gordon Campbell.
