Nomen Mysticum
The
Nomen Mysticum
is the
secret name
that a member of a
mystical
secret society
may have.
Initiation
Usually the secret name is not given to the
neophyte
directly, but only after the completion of some sort of
initiation
. The connection between the initiation and the application of a secret name seems to be considered very deep by most esoteric orders, and probably represents the mystery of
rebirth
(or
birth
-
death
-
rebirth
).
