Noetherian

In mathematics, Noetherian is an adjective derived from the name of Emmy Noether, describing objects that satisfy an ascending chain condition on certain kinds of subobjects. A Noetherian ring is a ring that satisfies the ascending chain condition on ideals. A Noetherian module is a module that satisfies the ascending chain condition on submodules. Emmy Noether was the first to study the ascending and descending chain conditions for rings.
