Nirgrantha

Nirgrantha "Freed from all ties," a naked mendicant; devotees who are free from all ties, wander naked, and cover themselves with ashes. Mahāvīra (Mahavira), one of this sect, called Jāti after his family, and also Nirgrantha-jātiputra, was an opponent of Śākyamuni (Sakyamuni). His doctrines were determinist, everything being fated, and no religious practices could change one's lot.
