Nicholas Bullingham
Nicholas Bullingham
(or Bollingham) was a
Bishop of Worcester
. Nicholas Bullingam was born in
Worcester
in around
1520
. He was sent to the
Royal Grammar School Worcester
after which he entered
Oxford University
. In
1543
he became a Fellow of
All Souls College, Oxford
. He then gained his
DCL
from
Cambridge University
. After his education in law, Bullinham entered the church becoming private Chaplain to Queen
Elizabeth I
. He then became Bishop of
Lincoln
and finally returned to his old city as Bishop of Worcester until his death in
1576
. Whilst at Worcester he greeted the Queen on her visit to the city in
1575
. He is buried in
Worcester Cathedral
in an unusual tomb with an inscribed tablet on his stomach. Bullingham, N
