Niall O Brolchain

Niall O'Brolchain is an Irish politician, and a councillor for the West Ward of Galway City Council, elected in June 2004 with 10.03% of the vote in a 4 seat ward. Since then he has worked on campaigns ranging from Quality Bus Corridors to better sewage treatment facilites. He sits on the cities Economic Development Group and Environment strategic policy committee, and is due to become Galways first Green Mayor in either 2006 or 2007. Prior to his successful campaign for City Council, he ran for Dail Eireann Irish Republics lower house of parliament and finished 7th out of seventeen candidates in the 5 seat Galway West constituency in the 2002 general election. He has signalled he will run again for Dail Eireann in the next general election, due to be held in 2007.
