Newfoundland And Labrador General Election, 2003The province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, conducted a general election in October 2003 to elect the 48 members of the House of Assembly. The election was called on September 29 by Premier Roger Grimes of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador. Polling took place on October 21. The Liberals lost seven of their 17 cabinet ministers, plus the speaker of the house, from the preceding governments. The New Democrats' hopes to increase their seat total from 2 were frustrated.
