New York Giants (Brickley's)"Brickley's Giants" (formally named the New York Giants) were a professional American football team with the APFA whose only season played was in 1921. They were sponsored by the New York Giants professional baseball team, and coached by premier drop-kicker Charley Brickley. Originally formed with an eye toward competing in 1919, the schedule that year was scratched because of conflict with New York's blue laws. Regrouping after a change in the law in 1921, the team played several exhibition games, but only two league games, losing to the Buffalo Bisons in October, and again to the Cleveland Tigers that December, after which the team folded for good. Other than the name, there is no relation between the team and the modern New York Giants franchise. External link
