New York Americans

The New York Americans were a professional ice hockey team that played in New York City in the National Hockey League. The team played as the New York Americans from 1925 to 1941, but played their last season 1941-1942 as the Brooklyn Americans. They never played in Brooklyn, New York, instead the name was taken so Brooklynites could identify with the Americans instead of the New York Rangers. The idea failed, and the team folded in 1942.
