New Tang Dynasty Tv

New Tang Dynasty TV is a New York-based Chinese language television station started in February 2002. It has the reputation for having ties to the Falun Gong movement, but according to Reporters Sans Frontiers, "offers a range of programmes, in particular news programmes that provide a sharp contrast with the propaganda on state television CCTV," in the People's Republic of China. There has been a running battle between NTDTV and the PRC, with the Beijing government putting pressure on satellite operators to stop carrying NTDTV broadcasts. In March 2004, New Skies Satellites (NSS) for Asia stopped carrying the channel http://www.rsf.org/print.php3?id_article=10439. In March 2005, Eutelsat announced it would not renew a contract to carry the channel http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=12857.
