New Orleans Season (The Real World)

The New Orleans Season of The Real World first aired on MTV in 2000. In the ninth edition of the popular reality series, seven strangers were chosen to live in a remodeled Civil War-era mansion, called The Belfort, in downtown New Orleans, Louisiana. The seven strangers were:

Plot

Julie, a Mormon college student who was attending Brigham Young University, was worried about what the school would think of her, as she was living with men as well as women. Her coming to terms with the world outside of her adoptive home state of Utah (she was raised in Wisconsin) provided much story throughout the season. Danny, who was gay, started dating a serviceman. In compliance with the Don't Ask, Don't Tell law, his boyfriend's face was blurred every time he was caught on camera. Melissa, who was slightly neurotic, went to therapy and channeled her emotions through painting. She was also deemed the firecracker of the house, and provided much drama and laughter.

Job

The seven housemates worked at a New Orleans public access cable television station.
