Netznetz

netznetz.net is a net activism and net culture platform located in Vienna, Austria. Around 100 different groups (e.g. Ubermorgen, Quintessenz, monochrom) decided to work together as an open movement. Under the term netznetz.net a congregation of initiatives and individuals from the arts, cultures, sciences and technologies in the "greater electronic area" of Vienna is growing with the goal to enhance and also visualize connectivity between themselves and the public. In a 3-day social-setting in October 2004 hundreds of netznetz.net activists left "blinking and blipping" presentations behind in order to sound out the practices, collaborations and futures of digital Vienna. This huge gathering took place at the Viennese Knstlerhaus. The motto "bring your own devices" was a call beyond the individual scenes to both past and future participants, and offered access to new techniques and strategies in horizontal working situations.
