Nestl NesquikNestl Nesquik is a brand of milk-flavoring mixes, flavored beverages, flavor syrups, and ice cream novelties produced by Nestl. The milk flavoring mix was developed in the U.S. in 1948, and introduced there as Nestl Quik. In the 1950s, it was launched in Europe as Nesquik. In countries using the "Quik" term (including the U.S. and Australia), the name was changed to the worldwide brand "NesQuik" in 1999. Nestlé Nesquik is also the name of a breakfast cereal made of chocolate flavored rice and corn puffs. As with many chocolate breakfast cereals, the milk turns into chocolate milk. The cereal is currently distributed by Cereal Partners Worldwide, a partnership with General Mills and Nestlé. In 1973, the Quik Bunny, an anthropomorphic cartoon rabbit character, was introduced as its mascot. In Europe and Canada, he is known as Quicky the Nesquik Bunny. In the U.S. in 1999, he was renamed the Nesquik Bunny when the brand name was changed. He appears on the packaging, and in the product's television commercials. His catch-phrase is "Chocolate Milk, Think Nesquik!" A strawberry flavor was introduced in the 1970s, and is still available, along with such other flavors as banana and possibly vanilla. There is also a sugar-free chocolate flavor. There is also a Nesquik flavor of Nestl hot cocoa mix; the Nesquik flavor has bunny-shaped marshmallows and 38% more calcium than regular hot cocoa.
