Founded by Diego de Ospina y Medinilla, it is the capital of the Colombian department of Huila. It is about five hours drive from the Colombian capital, Bogot. Main universities include Universidad Surcolombiana, Antonio Narino, Cooperativa de Colombia. This city is famous for "San Pedro" festival during June or July.
