Negative Heuristic

Negative Heuristic is a term used by Imre Lakatos to describe the hard core of a scientific theory. The foundation of the theory, or 'research programme' as Lakatos calls them, is laid down in this core. The hypothesis laid down herein are not open for negotiation.
