Needle (Chess)

Needle is a chess engine developed by Mikko Nummelin in 2004. Its current version (as of late January 2005) is programmed at a beginner level. Although based on bitboards and therefore relatively quick in search, it has the drawback that its evaluation function overlooks many important aspects of chess strategy, for example pins and Q+B combinations.
