National Republican Movement
The
National Republican Movement
(
Mouvement National Rpublicain
or MNR) is a
French
right-wing
political party
, created by
Bruno Mgret
as a split from
Jean-Marie Le Pen
's
National Front
. The MNR is widely considered to be a
far-right
party, even if it denies this. It considers itself
classical liberal
and nationalist. Its political proposals are:
in favor of
laissez-faire
economics
;
the fight against undesirable
immigration
, in particular of
Islamists
.
During the
2004
campaign for the
regional elections
, the MNR campaigned under the "No to islamization" slogan.
