National Gay And Lesbian Taskforce

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) is an organization working for the civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the United States. This organization was founded in 1973 in New York. The current executive director is Matt Foreman. The first national LGBT rights organization they have always had a rivalry with the Human Rights Campaign. NGLTF is more progressive and grassroots based.

Initiatives

  • Creating Change Conference - Brings together GLBT organizers and activists from across the country to support and teach them.
  • Policy Institute - Researchs government policy and diverse segments of the GLBT community.
