National Association Of Local Government Officers
The
National Association of Local Government Officers
(NALGO) was a
British
trade union
representing mostly
local government
workers. It was founded in
1905
from various local unions, the most important being the
Liverpool Government Officers Guild
. In
1963
it amalgamated with the
British Gas Staff Association
. NALGO merged with the
National Union of Public Employees
and the
Confederation of Health Service Employees
in
1993
to form
UNISON
.
