Nathan BraunNathan Jeremy Braun (b. May 24, 1983 in Las Vegas, NV) He lived there for approximently a year of his life until him and his family moved to Stoughton, WI. Both of his parents, Stanley Joe Braun and Barbara Jean Braun, grew up in Wisconsin around and in the LaCrosse area. After graduating from Stoughton High School, Nathan went to college in Kenosha, WI at Carthage College to study psychology. He was quickly perturbed by Carthage's psychology department, and after a short attempt at business, he found his niche with English. Nathan had little experience with writing prior to college. Jim Keeney, his language arts teacher in Stoughton, encouraged his poetry writing and pushed for his entry into a local poetry contest. Through his four years in college, Nathan has developed a catalog of poems as well as short stories and essays. His senior thesis was done on Norman Mailer's novel An American Dream, in which he exposes Mailer's idea of evolving The American Dream into an exploration of the persona. Devising the idea that The American Dream should be based on each individual person shows shades of existentialism, and fits in with the wild changing 60's counterculture. Well at college, Nathan joined the local fraturnity Beta Phi Epsilon with the goal of altering the perception of fraturnities. He believed in the idea of a unified brotherhood, and wished this idea to be embrassed by the whole United States if not the entire world, but tested this theory on a smaller scale. He quickly realized how closed-mind some people could be and has since then attempted to discover a way to relate to these citizens and help expand their minds. Nathan is also an advocate for drug legalization, pro-choice, legal prositution, and the right to die claiming it is everybodies personal liberty to do what they will with their body as long as it causes no harm to others. Critics have noted this to coinside with libertarian philosophy. Currently Nathan has not published anything. He is in his last year of college and is living in Kenosha, WI with his girlfriend Heather Vogt.
