Nameks Nameks Nameks are the people that live on the Planet Namek in Dragonballz. They are the creators of the dragonballs and are a peaceful people. In Dragonballz their planet is attacked by the evil lord Frieza who seeks to obtain the dragonballs in order to make a wish for immortality. The people of Namek put up little resistance to the tyrant and would have become extinct were it not for the Z Fighters. Nameks have many abilities such as being able to regrow lost limbs and stretch parts or even their whole body to enormous sizes. Nameks also have the advantage that they never need to eat needing only water to survive and can reproduce alone. This was seen in Dragonball where King Piccolo created his minions by regurgitating eggs. Biologically they seem to be a type of humanoid based on eithier amphibians ( asexual, laying eggs and regenerating limbs ) or plants ( needing only water ), though the creator of the DragonBall series (Akira Toryiama) meant to model the Nameks after snails ( ie: the antennae ).
