Nakhon Ratchasima

Nakhon Ratchasima (often called Khorat) is a town in the north-east of Thailand (Isan}. It has a population of 427,492, an area around 855 sq.k.m., and is the third-biggest city in Thailand. Its geographical location is . Nakhon Ratchasima is also capital of the province Nakhon Ratchasima. It is located at the western edge of the Khorat Plateau and historically marked the boundary between the Lao and Siamese. The controversial Thao Suranaree is a local hero.
