Multichannel Marketing

Multichannel Marketing is marketing that employs the use of multiple marketing channels to reach potential customers in its market share. This strategy is used to reach a target market which is not entirely accessible through a single channel. A Multichannel Marketing strategy has been statistically proven more effective than a single marketing channel strategy. An example of Multichannel Marketing is Dell Computer, who promote their personal computers through:
  • Direct Mail
  • Magazines
  • Online Banner Ads
  • Television
  • Affiliates
The Internet has created new marketing channels, allowing marketers to reach their target market where other channels are unavailable. These new marketing channels include: email promotion (see spamming), banner advertisements, newsletters, and affiliate advertising.
