Muhammad Najib Ar-ruba'i

Muhammad Najib ar-Ruba'i (last name also spelled al-Rubai), (born 1904) was the President of Iraq from (July 14, 1958 to February 8, 1963). He played a leading role, with Abdul Karim Qassim in the 1958 coup in which King Faisal II and many other Iraqi political leaders were killed. Rubai was officially given the title of chairman of the sovereignty council. Rubai and Qassim were deposed in a coup. Though Rubai is presumed to be dead as of 2004, his life after the 1963 coup is not known.
