Pokdex definition According to the pokdex, this pokmon uses its fin "to sense...what is taking place around it" and when it's underwater, it "breathes using the gills on its cheeks." Additionally, if it senses it's in danger, it "will unleash its amazing power - it can crush rocks bigger than itself." In-game details Picking this pokmon as a starter is categorized as choosing a "Medium" difficulty level for the game because the first gym leader uses pokmon whose type is weak against Mudkip's and the later-in-the-game Granite Cave has some pokmon who are also weak against Mudkips powerful water blasts. However, it is important to note that the third gym leader uses pokmon that could devastate even the best-trained Mudkip if it hasen't evolved into Marshtomp. In the anime In the pokmon anime, Brock (who travels with Ash Ketchum) has a Mudkip.
