Mud LoggerThe mud logger is involved in an exciting and interesting profession. You are solely responsible for the detection of gas, and the analysis of wellbore samples. Using invaluable tools such as the gas detector and the hydrogen flame chromatograph the logger creates a, you guessed it, log that gives the client the ROP(rate of penetration), gas units, type of gas, lithology(sample descriptions) and other pertinent information on the way to the TD(total depth).
