Mourning Cloak

The mourning cloak or Camberwell beauty Nymphalis antiopa is a butterfly with wingspan 62–75 mm. Mourning cloak lives in Northern hemisphere. In North America the species ranges from south of the tundra to central Mexico. It is also found throughout continental Europe to Eastern Siberia. The species is only rarely is found in Great Britain. Its British English name came about when it was first discovered in Britain near Camberwell in the 1700s.
