Demographics As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,092 people, 481 households, and 344 families residing in the town. The population density is 12.3/km² (31.9/mi²). There are 994 housing units at an average density of 11.2/km² (29.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.26% White, 0.00% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 0.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 481 households out of which 22.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% are married couples living together, 6.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% are non-families. 24.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
