Moshe Feiglin

Moshe Feiglin is a Jewish Israeli political activist. Feiglin founded the right-wing Zo Artzeinu ("This is our Land") movement in 1995 to protest the Oslo agreement between Israel and the Palestinian organization headed by Yasser Arafat. He grabbed headlines by blocking major traffic arteries in Israel in protest of the agreements. As a result of his protest activities, he was sentenced to jail on grounds of sedition (for causing "ridicule" on the Israeli government). In 2000 he joined the Israeli Likud party in an attempt to steer the Likud back to it's own platform (which is a more Jewish and right-wing direction than Ariel Sharon is taking). He attempted to run for the Knesset (parliament), but the judicial election's supervisory body disqualified him as he had been convicted of sedition. In 2005 the Israeli Election Council ruled that Mr. Feiglin is eligible to run for the Knesset in the next election.
