Mortadelo y Filemn (Mortadelo and Filemn) is probably the most popular comic series in Spain. Mortadelo and Filemon was created in 1958 by the hand of Francisco Ibaez, appearing for the first time in the children comic-book tiovivo. The series features Mortadelo the tall master of disguises Mortadelo, and his boss, the shorter pudgier Filemn. Both are secret agents in the TIA, a parody of the CIA. Tia stands for Tecnicos Investigacion Aeroterraquea which translates into Earth-Air Investigation Technicians. Mortadelo and Filemon could be described as a pair of waking catastrophes, no matter what kind of mission they are assigned they always manage to get it wrong, the results are almost invariably extreme violence directed towards Filemon, Mortadelo's boss, who always receives all the punches. A movie was made in 2003 in Spain.
