Morley High School

Morley High School is located on Fountain Street in Morley, a town situated 5 miles south-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire with a population of about 50,000. The school is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school which serves the town and its surrounding area. It has approximately 1400 students on roll. The Headteacher is John Townsley. The school was first established as a grammar school in 1907, but became became a mixed comprehensive in 1975. In July 2001 the Arts Council awarded the school the Artsmark at the Silver level. The school was one of only three in Leeds and 13 in Yorkshire to be so recognised. Morley High School is now a Specialist Technology College. The school is developing a culture which is technological and vocational.
