Money is the 5th song on Pink Floyd's famous album The Dark Side of the Moon, and was written by Roger Waters. It is the only song on the album to hit #1 in the United States charts. The song is notable for having seven beats to the measure in the main part. Most rock music has four beats to the measure, and most of the exceptions have three. During the guitar solo the song changes to four beats, then returns to seven beats. This was done because guitarist, David Gilmour, thought it would be too complicated to write the solo in seven beat form. Dick Parry plays the saxophone on this song.

CD booklet Errors

On the original CD release of 'Dark Side, the lyrics to Money contain many mistakes:
  1. Verse 1, line 2: Get a good job with more pay and your O.K. - 'your' should be 'you're'
  2. Verse 2, line 2: I'm all right Jack keep your hands of my stack. - 'of' should be 'off of'
  3. Verse 3, line 6: giving none away - 'given' should have a capital 'G', like every other line
  4. Verse 2: Verse 2 is to the right of Verse 1, and Verse 3 is below Verse 1. Verse 2 should be below Verse 1, and Verse 3 to the right of Verse 1
Same as inside the record.

Other songs named Money

Other bands have also released songs named Money, although none reached the level of popularity of the Pink Floyd version.
