Molde Airport

Molde Airport located at was inaugurated in 1972, having been financed by the municipality of Molde, Norway following the construction of government-paid airports at Vigra near lesund and Kvernberget near Kristiansund. The construction was the culmination of a long-lasting discussion on the number and situations of airports in Mre og Romsdal. Its IATA Airport Code is MOL and ICAO Airport Code ENML. The airport has one 1,640-meter runway in the direction of 07-25. A new passenger terminal opened in the early 1990s, serving approximately 300,000 passengers annually. Scheduled flights are operated by Braathens to Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen, and Barcelona, and Norwegian to Oslo. Charter flights by Braathens to Crete. The international routes to Barcelona and Crete are currently weekly summer-only operations. Plans to extend the runway to 2,100 meters will most likely be realized in a few years.
