Mixture

This article is about mixtures in chemistry. For the mixture stops of a pipe organ, see mixture (music). A mixture is a combination of two or more substances, often chemicals, in which the substances remain chemically distinct, retaining their particular composition and properties.

Properties of a mixture

There are no chemical changes in a mixture, therefore, each substance in a mixture keeps the same chemical properties and makeup as before. In some mixtures, you can clearly see the components, like a pizza. In others, like saltwater, you can not identify the components.
