Misua

Misua is a thin variety of egg wheat noodles. It differs from Bihon and Sotanghon by some respects. The latter two are made from rice. Misua is cooked during important festivities, and is ate among the Chinese community in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Thailand, and the Philippines. It signifies long life in Chinese culture. Misua is universal in birthdays. The traditional misua is composed of misua noodles underneath, and topped by many ingredients (as in spaghetti), such as Eggs, Shiitake Mushroom, Beef, Shallots, or Green Onions, and Roasted Nuts.
