Mirai Sentai Time Ranger

Future Task Force TimeRanger was a Japanese television series which aired in 2000. It was the 24th in Toei's Super Sentai series-of-series (technically, they are all seasons of one long-running show; however, since each season introduces a completely new cast and new premise, they are effectively different series.) The footage from this series was used in the American production Power Rangers Time Force.

Plot

In the 30th century, time travel becomes illegal after an time paradox crisis. The Time Protection Department is established to watch for and stop time crimes. Four cadets of the TPD were tricked by Don Dornero and his gang into letting them time-travel to the 20th century to commit various crimes. To protect history, the four cadets pursue them. But they encounter a severe problem ... the TimeRanger program requires five members for the first operation. They force a present-day martial artist, Tatsuya Asami, to join them, and become the TimeRangers to protect the present and future. Over time, the four cadets begin to realize that their presence would inevitably change the future, and that it apparently already had, in the form of the City Guardians, a security force under the employment of the Asami Corpation to secure the businesses of anyone who could pay for it. The City Guardians gain a tenuous relationship with the Time Rangers when Tatsuya's childhood friend Naoto becomes TimeFire.

Characters

TimeRangers

  • Tatsuya Asami, "TimeRed": A martial artist who was "drafted" into the team. He refuses to accept fate and his heritage as future CEO of his father's company. He believes that people can control their own destiny, but only if they fight for a desirable future.
  • Yuuri, "TimePink": Police officer from the 30th century. Since the police were aware of Don Dolnero's plan, she posed as a TPD cadet to stop him. She has a grudge against Don Dolnero for sending an assasin who killed her family. She practically leads the TimeRangers.
  • Ayase, "TimeBlue": Formerly a racer, this calm-headed figure has a knack for highspeed battles. He also has a incurable terminal illness.
  • Domon, "TimeYellow": Formerly a professional fighter, he tends to overdo it some times.
  • Shion, "TimeGreen": An alien whose world was destroyed and who was thus raised on Earth. He is nimble and has a curiosity of everything around him.
  • Naoto Takizawa, "Time Fire": Tatsuya's rival and leader of the City Guardians established by the Asami Corperation. Unlike Tatsuya, Naoto came from the other side of the tracks, getting by on a scholarship as the two of them attended prep school. Naoto envied Tatsuya & wanted to be the best of the two.

Help

  • TAC: A Navigations Robot in the form of an owl who transmits the launch of the TimeJets. He has a database on all Londarz Criminals.
  • Wataru Asami: Tatsuya's father.
