Millbourne is a borough located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 943.

Geography

Millbourne is located at 39°57'48" North, 75°15'14" West (39.963412, -75.253998). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 943 people, 366 households, and 214 families residing in the borough. The population density is 5,201.3/km² (13,749.1/mi²). There are 420 housing units at an average density of 2,316.6/km² (6,123.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 21.31% White, 17.18% African American, 0.21% Native American, 54.29% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.55% from other races, and 4.45% from two or more races. 6.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 366 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.1% are married couples living together, 9.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% are non-families. 34.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.56 and the average family size is 3.43. In the borough the population is spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 35.2% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 7.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 113.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 114.6 males. The median income for a household in the borough is $30,185, and the median income for a family is $39,063. Males have a median income of $22,188 versus $21,458 for females. The per capita income for the borough is $15,752. 10.9% of the population and 7.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 9.0% of those under the age of 18 and 16.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
