. The station is on the the terminus of, and only station on, a branch of the
Northern Line
from
Finchley Central station
. It is in
Travelcard Zone 4
. The station opened as
Mill Hill
on the
22nd August
1867
, and was then renamed
London Mill Hill
and
Mill Hill for Mill Hill Barracks
. The station closed on the
11th September
1932
and reopened under its present name on the
18th May
1941
. The original intention was to extend the branch through to
Edgware station
, thus providing two routes to that station. This intention was later dropped, but the alignment can still be traced on the ground and on maps.
